Academ's Fury

tari_rooDear flist who have read Jim Butcher's Academ's Fury..
I am thoroughly intrigued with this instalment of the series but am not really enjoying it. Why? It's stressful send full of tension. When I am stressed and tense in RL I can't or won't read stressful books. But I want to know what happens!!!
So, can you help? A few questions:
1. Do the vord last more than this book? Are they a protagonist for the series?
2. How much of the book is about political intrigue? Will there be action aside from fighting the vord?
3. Can I skip this one and go straight to No. 3?
