Friending... journals and comms

Greetings All
Is anyone else finding LJ just a tad quiet these days? I know I should be using this 'quiet' time to get some reading/writing done, but I fear all the new shows and my work load are preventing me *bats at the excuses rolling their eyes*.
But there is nothing like browsing through an interesting journal to while away the boring meetings, traffic, procastination, bathtime, eh... whatever.
So, what are your recs of interesting LJ journals or comms, that you visit on a regular basis and/or friend? Help me broaden my interweb horizons, please :)
And also, is anyone watching Elementary and Made in Jersey? I am - and so far, I like :)

Date: 2012-10-11 05:55 am (UTC)If LJ/dw is slow these days I didn't notice, but it would be nice because I'm so busy with university I shouldn't be as distracted as I am by shiny internets *sigh*

Date: 2012-10-11 08:43 am (UTC)As to people....well, for starters there's bellatemple and honeyloccusttree and hells-half-acre and ceedeeandco (who wrote a really nifty gen mini-bang this year! and wrote some amaaazing farscape longfic) and tassosss and moonshayde and goldenusagi and really, I just love everyone on my flist so if you want to stalk my profile for all the people i've friended, I heartily recommend all of them.
And on a completely different note....could I ask for some more hand-holding and idea-bouncing for the not-really-a-comment-fic-anymore-fic?

Date: 2012-10-11 12:54 pm (UTC)I like it, but I think it's too similar to The Mentalist in structure, and too procedural to really be totally Sherlock, in my opinion. Replace Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson with any other generic names and the story will work just as well. It's something to while the time away while waiting for BBC Sherlock to finally air LOL

Date: 2012-10-11 01:04 pm (UTC)*ponders* I agree with you about the similiary with The Mentalist, as Jane does operate on a similiar vein. I think the reason I like it because its a great little Sherlock fix (as you said). As much as I love BBC Sherlock, the episodes are so few and intense, its almost a relief to watch something less intense and more lighthearted.
And I love Johnny Lee Miller :)
