I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's friended me did this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal [only if you feel inclined]. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer*.
*Providing it's answerable/suitable for public posting.

Date: 2013-01-26 03:41 pm (UTC)I am Cardinals baseball fan who grew up in a Cubs fan household. I work in social services.I used to play French horn and flute and was a marching band geek. I still love to watch marching bands. I pretty much keep my mouth shut both here and on Facebook on things outside of fandom, daily life and work because although I don't care if someone has a different religion, personal philosophy or political opinion from me, it kills me how most people treat each other when someone is different from them.
Also,many of my employees suck...
Question: You want to come visit and be a temp HR person and help me kick some employee ass?Do you play any musical instruments or do anything creative outside of fandom?

Date: 2013-01-27 08:17 am (UTC)I sometimes read books not in the right order. When there is an A plot and an B plot but my hero is in much danger in the A plot then I don't care what the other people in the B plot do and only read all the scenes with the hero first ;) And after I have finished I go back to the beginning and read the rest to see how it all fits together. Now that I know that my hero is save I am more relaxed.
Also, when my friend lent me her John Barrowman biography, I thought it might be boring to start right at the beginning, you know, with the "I was born and raised" part, so I just flipped it open at any page and jumped into it right in the middle. Only then I figured out that his biography jumps around from story to story anyway, and is not in a linear order ;)
