I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's friended me did this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well.) Then post this in your own journal [only if you feel inclined]. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer*.

*Providing it's answerable/suitable for public posting.

Going for something random here, because I tend to not keep any secrets in all my rl posts, so..um.... oh! If I were going to have any kind of plastic surgery, it'd be a nose job. I inherited my great-grandmother's very patrician profile. There are worse noses, but it's just a little bit too much for the rest of my face. On the other hand, it's mine, and I love food too much to risk losing my sense of smell (and therefore, all the good parts about taste) for a little bit of vanity.

ETA: grr, accidentally hit post before I was ready, don't know how that happened. Hmm. How'd you end up working in HR?

You come up with the most interesting things! While I do like money and cereal, that's a tad unoriginal so... I have a cat whose actual name is Monty but nickname is Monkey (don't ask me why, it just kind of fits him), and I like to cook but am not always very good at it so have inflicted some rather questionable meals on the unwary.

Do you have any pets? And, if not, what type would you have? (I know two questions, I'm greedy ;) )

Something random: My grandmother taught me silk-painting, but I almost never do it since she died even though we inherited all her supplies. I started knitting once, and I finished two scarves, but I'm working on the third one for about two years now (it's a present for my mother.)

Question: What was the best holiday you've ever had?

I breed showdogs and I have some of the best in the country in my breed (English Springer Spaniels). I LOVE my dogs, me and my husband's life revolves around them: the house we have, the cars... And there are 6 of them in the house, plus 3 cats. We can't ahve kids but we had the dogs before we knew we'd never have kids.

If you could live anywhere in the world, other than where you are, where would you go?

Well, some of this might not be news, but here you go...

I am Cardinals baseball fan who grew up in a Cubs fan household. I work in social services.I used to play French horn and flute and was a marching band geek. I still love to watch marching bands. I pretty much keep my mouth shut both here and on Facebook on things outside of fandom, daily life and work because although I don't care if someone has a different religion, personal philosophy or political opinion from me, it kills me how most people treat each other when someone is different from them.

Also,many of my employees suck...

Question: You want to come visit and be a temp HR person and help me kick some employee ass?

Do you play any musical instruments or do anything creative outside of fandom?

I think this is a fun meme and I might post it as well! However, the only thing I could come up with to answer yours is something we already have talked about... I'll put it in here nonetheless! (and I want to point it out that I don't do it ALL of the time. Just in special cases)

I sometimes read books not in the right order. When there is an A plot and an B plot but my hero is in much danger in the A plot then I don't care what the other people in the B plot do and only read all the scenes with the hero first ;) And after I have finished I go back to the beginning and read the rest to see how it all fits together. Now that I know that my hero is save I am more relaxed.

Also, when my friend lent me her John Barrowman biography, I thought it might be boring to start right at the beginning, you know, with the "I was born and raised" part, so I just flipped it open at any page and jumped into it right in the middle. Only then I figured out that his biography jumps around from story to story anyway, and is not in a linear order ;)
