Supergirl season 2

This is a little late, but why not.
Last year I posted this last year where I moaned a little (a lot) about Supergirl. About how annoying it was that if the first episodes the script seemed to go to great lengths to talk around/avoid mentions of Superman and how later episodes handwaved his absence etc. I also didn't like how cossetted Kara was, and the general poor scripts etc. There were a few episodes were which good, and the stand out one was the Flash crossover. But on the whole, it was an iffy first season (which why niece agreed on LOL).
Cue episode 1 of season 2. Wow. Colour me pleasantly pleased and amused. I liked that Tyler was cast as Clark. FINALLY! Supergirl, alas, needs Superman because... cousins? Needs is the wrong word. Supergirl exists in the same universe as Superman. She is defined by him, whether she choses to be or not. If you want to have a show where Supergirl does her utmost to step out of his shadow, great. But you can't have that shadow as a non-character. The fact that they cast Tyler means Superman is going to be more than a passing cameo every now and then, and I don't mind. I prefer mutual co-operation and family than antagnostic, rebellious story lines. Further, as much as I miss Derek in TeenWolf, I'm glad Tyler is back on the small screen. If I can't have sourwolf, I'll take goofy!Clark :) And he was good. I liked their interaction and his addition.
Also, overall the feel of the show was lighter, snappier, happier. Moving Winn to the DEO was good (he needs to be closer to the action). I don't know about the Jimmy breakup, seems too convienent. I like Morgana being used as a Luthor, but we had an evil villian in Lord. Bring back Lord. Yay for less Krypton prison break/convicts as the threat. Yay for mysterious Cadmus. Yay for shiny new DEO building. I don't know about Kara being a reporter. That's too samey samey to Clark. I don't know her canon well enough if that is canon. But surely you can investigate injustice without being a reporter? ... Can't you. Eh, I don't mind really.
All in all, thank you CW for reviving Supergirl. Thank you.
I look forward to more :)
On a side note, I am NOT watching the Flash until at least 4 episodes have aired. I want any flashpoint paradox timelines RESOLVED or ESTABLISHED enough that I do not have more ridiculous stupid Barry induced cliffhangers. Pfff. Stupid Barry.
