Meme: Headcanon

As seen on other LJs and I swear from Monday not even evil_[livejournal.com profile] auntmo9 will tempt back to LJ and non-writing. But since this meme helps with writing *cough* :)

Give me a character and I'll tell you a piece of my personal headcanon.

[livejournal.com profile] schneefink and I have already had a nice chat about headcanon, so go :)

John Sheppard
I mean who else for me eh??
>;-)

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-05 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooooo *cracks knuckles* which part of the massive headcanon do I share? Uhm...

ok, how about this:

As far as Sheppard is concerned, he plans never to return to Earth permanently. He said his farewell when he left with the Expedition and fully expects to live and die out in the wide expanse of the galaxy.

And although I am not a shipper, my head canon for Shep and the various women in his life is: he kept his distance from Teyla, not wanting to spoil his team's dynamics but felt she was a viable love interest, had a silent, unrequited love for Elizabeth and kept Sam company on nights when she was lonely.

Awesome..........
I have not had anyone yet speak about the amorous side of him
I am also not a shipper but I know he has that side to him which
he keeps close....and it not involve fraternization as he
would never violate the code. . . that is firmly planted in the mind of all military personnel as soon as we sign on......

Dean Winchester

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-05 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeek, trinaward - eek. My headcanon for Dean is HUGE - uhmmm...

Dean isn't entirely sure what he wants out of life. As much as hunting has ruined any chance of a 'normal' existence, even given the option/AU life, he's the kinda person who would make a success out of just about anything. But like most folk who are smart and good at a lot of things, he struggles to focus. But give him direction, and watch him fly :)

Steve McGarrett. :D

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-06 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
EEeeeeee... the complicated head case that is Steve McGarrett!! *hugs you*

Steve is kinda clueless about real life ;) He completely gets and understands military life, and living on the edge. But 'reality' and 'people' seem beyond him at the moment. This is why Danny, Kono and Chin fit into his life so easily - they are his check, his balance.

Except, the Navy is such a key aspect of Steve's life, he doesn't want (and refuses to) lose the perspective that life gave him. The clarity. The purpose. The simplicity of knowing what to do and doing it.

*hugs back* He's my very favorite headcase! :D

Heh, I think you've nailed him. *g*

Hmm...since I am partly to blame for this, I will participate. While I am tempted to go the Sheldon route, I will say....

Rodney McKay

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-06 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I wish you had gone Shelly! :( 'Cos that would have been fun ;)

Anyhoo, Rodney Meredith McKay.

Like most socially awkward, smart kids, Rodney had a tough time in High School. However, he found college strangely liberating where his genius was finally appreciated. He fully expected this to continue into his working life, but the SGC (and Sam Carter) certainly gave him a rude awakening.

So, he's still (to this day, because the Atlantis misson is still going strong) amazed that the 'cool' kids are friends with him. Rodney has no idea why Sheppard likes him, but will never walk away from that friendship.

Rodney has no idea what makes Sheppard tick (see I end going into Shep headcanon), is still afraid of Teyla, and despite every indication, really likes Ronon :)

[identity profile] auntmo9.livejournal.com 2012-08-06 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
And he is not also afraid of Ronon, despite liking him?

And since I am evil,I will tempt you and say you can do two and give me your head canon on Shelly if you want. No one stopping you here.

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-06 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, Mer is terrified of Ronon ;) But he likes him too :)

Oh, Shelly. SHELLY! :)

On the surface, and perhaps blindly, he sees himself as Spock. The half alien outsider, looking in on a society he doesn't understand. And he's pretty fixated on that association. He doesn't want to understand everyone else.

however, Spock eventually came to terms with his humanity. Sheldon? Sheldon is Will Wheaton. Which is why (for a time) he hated him ;) To see the darker, less pleasant side of who he is. Shelly is Will - the annoying, know it all kid on a spaceship who really should have been airlocked on day one, except for his annoying habit of saving the day ;)

[identity profile] auntmo9.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Sheldon is Wil Wheaton! He is his own "mortal enemy"! Of course now that Wil is his friend and DataBrent Spiner is his mortal enemy, that makes for a new and interesting dynamic, since Data is very Spock-like.

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get me started on Shelly's development from annoying Man-child to functioning member of society! :)

I don't know if Chuck Lorre is doing it deliberately or if its' happy happenstance/conincidence, but as Sheldon has 'grown' through his association with his friends (mostly Amy and Penny) he's moved from Wheton/Crusher-esque behaviour to now Spiner/Data-like exploration of the range of human emotions. And his flawed mirror (object of hate) has moved from Wil to Brett in direct correlation.

His end goal is Spock. A happy medium of logic, emotion, humanity and alien entity :) Whether he gets there or not, well.... it all depends on who kills him first.

Danny Williams! :)

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-08-07 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
Gah! GAH! *hugs you*

No matter how much he protests, shouts, rants and raves - Danny loves Hawaii. The sun, the beach, the pineapple. All of it. He loves it to the very core of his being, despite the absence of decent pizza.

Oh, he didn't always. But he does now (and has for some time). Family is everything to Danny and since the Ohana way is so fundamental to Hawaiian culture, he digs it.

Danny though - is a non-conformist. You meet him on his terms - not weird ass shit he has no clue about. The reason he shouts is because his mother did and shouting means love. the reason he wears a tie to work, is because his father did and its what men do when they go to work. He followed Rachel to Hawaii because he grandfather followed his grandmother to New Jersey (and won her back).

:) I had to request him, hadn't I? :)

I so agree with you with the Ohana thing. I think that's what really convinced him that Hawaii isn't as bad as he thought. :)
