Procrastination, thou name art Roo

I'm still trawling through pages of fabulous icon comms, trying to find the elusive ones I want (but don't know it yet) and finding dozens of fabulous ones I want and love and *wails in glee* 70? I'm going to struggle to restrict myself to 200! *shakes fist at [livejournal.com profile] gwalchmai345's prophetic mutterings*
So, instead of writing an h/c button post or doing a belated squee week post, I've decided to do this instead:

Random Fandom Questions!! - its sunday night, so sort of a meme :)

1. If you could be any bender (fire, earth, air, water), which bender would you be?
2. Sherlock or Tony? (since they both have Jude Law)
3. What song/artist has SPN introduced you to? (fanvids count)
4. Fav Chris Evans role?
5. The one book you hope they *never* make into a movie and the one you wish they would.
6. Elf, Hobbit, or Ranger (or any of the races of men). Or wait, or Dwarf? Or Carrot?
7. If you could develop a mutant power, what power would it be?

[identity profile] schneefink.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, procrastination! ^^

1) ...no idea, to be honest. Maybe water? I'm sure there are dozens of online tests.
2) Tony.
3) None.
4) I only know him as Captain America.
5) The City of Dreaming Books: never, it just wouldn't work. And one they should: Idk, a mini-series about the Glass Books of the Dream Eaters could be fun.
6) I think Hobbit, because they're the ones least devastated by the war.
7) Slow down time! (I hope.)

Do you have recs for icon comms?

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it depends on what type of icons you are looking for ;)

I've found great stock non fandom comms, a couple of good fandom comms, and well... these always fandom_icons

1. yeah, there probably are. I just like the way Toph moves. Makes me want to be an earth bender
7. That I could do with! Or superspeed... pretty much the same I suspect :)

[identity profile] auntmo9.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Icons are hard to chose. I have 105, and I still play with mine. I have more than that in a folder and I occasional rotate some in and out of my LJ based on what I use. At first i thought i would never use that many. *laughs hysterically* how wrong I was.

1.I do not know enough about benders to chose
2.Sherlock
3. *coughs* hmm, much of the music on the show I listened to growing up. I guess I just fell in love with it all over again because of the show?
4. Captain America
5. I read a book in HS called Five Smooth Stones. I have read and re-read that over the years and the characters and places are etched in my own mind in a way that no movie or mini-series could ever do it it justice. But I would love to see some of my favorites crossover fics be turned into TV episodes or movies. I think I would never stop bouncing with joy.
6. Elf...I would like to live a long time and have mad archery skills.
7. Telepathy/telekinesis. Often in fiction, the side effects of having these powers include having bad headaches.Since I already have the bad headaches, can't someone just go ahead and give me the powers already?

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
3. *pats your hand* That's just 'cos your awesome :)
5. Crossover shows should happen WAY more often. the H50/NCIS LA one this year was great. we need More!!
6. *fist bump for the mad archery skills*
7. I concur. You already have the skillset to endure the abilities. Write a letter of complaint :)

Fun!

[identity profile] dolimir-k.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Air
2. This one is hard. I'm going to say Tony. [How does Tony have Jude Law?]
3. Accidentally in Love (fanvid). Johnny Cash. There's another one, but I can't for the life of me think of the title.
4. The Losers, followed by Push.
5. Never - A dozen romance novels that I've endured. Blech.
Wish they Would - Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey
6. Elf
7. Telekinesis

Re: Fun!

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
1. OOO, air. Good choice :)
2. Jarvis is voiced by Jude Law
4. Oh, Push is a serious fav. Unexpected movie that I liked!
5. *crosses fingers* I'd love a Pern movie. LOVE

[identity profile] gwalchmai345.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
*cackles evilly* I'm the prophet of certain doom! Wuahahaha! *clears throat*

1. That's so difficult - airbender or waterbender, or perhaps avatar? ;-) If I absoultey had to choose, probably waterbender.
2. Sherlock. :)
3. ... (I don't watch SPN)
4. ... (Only seen him in Fantastic Four so far, but I didn't like him that much there)
5. *thinks* None, really, where the first part is concerned; Temeraire... which is already happening, so I guess I'm lucky. ;-)
6. Elf. Or Carrot. Carrot's nice, too. *nods*
7. The power to make myself invisible. :)

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
*Mutters about prophetic mutterings*

1. Oooo, water. Interesting.
4. You need to see more Chris Evans movies. Fantastic Four doesn't do him enough justice ;)
5. Temeraire is happening as a movie??!! *Squee of Fannish Glee and Terror!!!*
6. Nods with you. Carrot - is v.nice
7. You sneaky person you.

[identity profile] gwalchmai345.livejournal.com 2012-06-05 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
@5: Yes, Peter Jackson has optioned the rights to the series. Last I heard, he was planning a mini-series rather than a movie, though. I hope he'll start filming soon!

1) Earth
2) Um, I've never seen the Sherlock movies with RDJ, so: Tony! *ducks*
3) Back in black, Wayward Son, a lot of these old classic rock songs - some I've rediscovered, some I've discovered
4) I only know him as Captain America and from Fantastic Four (at least I think so, maybe I've seen in somewhere else but I can't remember). I like him in Fantastic Four a bit better because the total package between looks and character works better for me there.
5) Warchild by Karen Lowachee - it wouldn't work. Only if they make it really, really good and stay close to the book - all the Temeraire books.
6) Ranger
7) To heal soul, mind and body

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
1. *fistbump of awesomeness and Toph*
2. What?? You haven't seen... oh wait, you don't like Sherlock Holmes. Never mind :)
3. AC/DC!
4. You prefer F4? I prefer him as Cap, but only because the F4 movies were a little 'weak' in my opinion. As a character, yes, I agree Human Torch is more amusing and engaging than Cap.
5. I didn't even know they were making Temeraire into a movie!!!
6. Figured :)
7. V. interesting and very cool
saphirablue: (Horses2)

[personal profile] saphirablue 2012-06-04 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, not a fan of Sherlock and not even RDJ can make me watch them. :)

Yes, but only because the overall package is better. body + character together. Cap is too muscled for my tastes.

Are they already making it? I knew that Peter Jackson holds the movie rights but I didn't know that they are already planning/doing it. The fact that Peter Jackson has his hands in it gives me hope that they'll do it right!

Yeah, and afterwards I thought: Stupid girl, what about the Rohirrim? *smacks head*

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, I don't know that they 'are' making it - I just had no idea anyone a) wanted to or b) had the rights. *holding fingers for Jackson too*

Rohirrim!? *smacks head too*
saphirablue: (Horses)

[personal profile] saphirablue 2012-06-07 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
:) I really hope that they do it but do it right. *crosses fingers*

Yep, how could I forget the people who are horse people? *rolls eyes about herself*

[identity profile] khek.livejournal.com 2012-06-03 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Air. I think it's the most versatile.

2. Sherlock. (To be fair, I'm not sure what "Tony" means.)

3. Jen Titus and "O Death". I can't think of anything else, really. It did make me revisit some songs I'd loved in the past.

4. I think I've only seen him as Captain America and Johnny Storm. CA was a better character.

5. Every book I love I never want to see made into a movie. Hollywood rarely manages to do justice to anything meaty. With that said, I'd love for them to adapt a Diana Wynne Jones book, just because I think she deserved way more credit than she ever got.

6. Elf. Because I could live for a long time and satisfy all my curiosity.

7. The ability to manipulate things. Wave my hands and get rid of dust. With a flick of the wrist put all my laundry away in the closet and dressers. Change a damn lightbulb on the outdoor lamppost that's ten feet over my head by just turning a finger instead of trying to balance on an eight foot ladder trying to manipulate a weird lightbulb that can't be touched into a delicate socket that doesn't...quite...fit.

Um, I may have thought about this a bit today before you asked this question.

:)

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
1. Interesting. and true :)
2. Tony as in Iron Man
4. Yeah, Chris did/does a great job with Cap
5. I don't think Howls Moving Castle counts as a 'Hollywood' version, but I agree. Diana Wynne Jones needs more credit
7. I am totally stealing your power idea ;)

[identity profile] khek.livejournal.com 2012-06-05 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
2. OH! In that case...Tony! (see icon)

5. Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle was interesting, but it wasn't really the book. And it surprises me how many people who saw the movie *still* don't know it was a book.

7. :) It would be a great way to put books away too.

[identity profile] ferrous-wheeler.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I love to procrastinate so am happy to aid and abet you.
1. Hmmm, don't know much about the benders, so my uninformed choice would be earth - maybe I could help make things grow?
2. Sherlock
3. Roy Buchanan - totally amazing
4. Also only know him as Captain America
5. Ooooohh tricky.... I'd have to say the answer to both would be any of the Mongo series by George Chesbro. Really great, yet quirky, books that though I would love to see what they could do with it on film, I'd be kind of dreading it as well.
6. Elf! Even when they're fighting they never seem to have a bad hair day!
7. Super smart... but without an ugly big bulging brain ;p

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-04 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
1. Alas, your lack of Bender knowledge bebrays you. But Earth is an awesome power. Kicks ass :)
3. Really? Nice!
4. Hmmm, you too need to watch more Chris Evans movies. I recommend highly
5. Alas, a common fear for books we love
6. Tis True. All that pantene ultra packs in their quivers
7. Totally. No bulging brain (or baldness)

[identity profile] jya-bd-cp-ttgb.livejournal.com 2012-06-05 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Fire
2. Sorry, neither.
3. Counting Crowns
4. Only seen him once.
5a. Narcissus in Chains
5b. Naked in Death
6. DĂșnedain
7. Phoenix's.

[identity profile] tari-roo.livejournal.com 2012-06-05 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Oh, first Fire :) Impressive choice
4. Is sad :( May Chris woo you to more movies ;)
6. Excellent choice!
7. Ah, simple but awesome
