Dr Who Season 2 (thoughts and mutterings)

Fear not, gentle readers, this will not be long or whiny. In fact it will be brief and succinct.

1. Ten is made of win! Mercurical, volatile and funny. I think I still prefer Eleven, but Ten is very charming

2. Rose is annoying. Either the script writers are useless and she supposed to say, "Doctor!" a lot or Billy's just annoying. I'm going with wet paper bag acting and annoying. Not too bad, just... eh.

3. Mickey. Eh, kinda one dimensional and I'm glad he grew a back bone and stayed on the Cybermen world.

4. Very dramatic and OTT at times, but oh boy, there are some interesting ideas and worlds :)

Yeah, I pretty much am with you there on all points. I really enjoyed 9 very much too. Tennant was wonderful, but I found some of the writing to be bad, and Rose was so annoying. But I did rather start to like her compassion and love for people.

I seriously love Matt Smith as 11 so much! He's my fave.

Although, still the writing bothers me sometimes.

So far (I've seen six episodes of season five) the writing for Eleven has been fine :) (holding thumbs)

But while I was watching 2.7 th Idiots Lantern, there was a lot of standing around and shouting at people which... sigh... I really don't like. Surely if you're in the middle of a crisis you aren't going to stand around and let a middle class family have a row. sheesh....

:)

Yep. Rose & Mickey are my least favourite characters. I don't think Davies did them any favours though, given his tendenancy for dramatics.

Ten. Hee! Yes. He can be rather endearing and charming.

No, no, the writing definitely wasn't helping BUT their acting was all that up to scratch either. The whole AU Cyberman world story was both interesting and very annoying. The idea of masses of people just being tortured so readily was very disturbing (as it's meant to be I know) but still.. not pleasant. And with the Dr running around making jokes, it felt a bit off.

BUT I still like Ten, definitely. He's less all over the place compared to Eleven, and as you say, much darker, but still, so... endearing! :)

next up ... the Satan Pit (ooooooerrrrr....)
