Right oh evil one, my DVD Commentary On the Organic Fic Sprung from the Muses.
'Cos this one was. I have no idea where this fic sprung from other than a desire (and subsequent effort) to write crack!fic. I still think I failed, but you'all liked it, so... \o/
So, my thoughts and intentions during this section:
John is a cat. I now need to end the fic. Do I go crazy fic ways and have magic intervene to change him back into a human whilst on Rodney's bed. Do I leave it for a cliffhanger type ending? Aliens? Mummies? Evil Ghosts? I decided on the cliffie for one simple reason - the idea of John Sheppard the cat, curled up on my lap eating m'n'm's was so darn cute I couldn't end it.
John liking mnms - a no brainer. His ability to annoy Rodney is transcended into any form he takes. The claws into Rodney's leg encompasses every single experience I have with a cat - they claw my leg when I get tired of petting them :(
BUT the leaving the message on the mirror in pawprints was a stroke of utter 'it came as I wrote it'. I didn't know John was going to do that. Initially I thought I'd end this fic with John crawling onto Rodney's head in the night (because this also happens to me) but then... came the mirror and paws and desire to be human again.
A lot of the inspiration for this fic came from pentapus's SGA fanart, of which there are a number of Rodney&John&aCat scenes. But cats are also inscrutable creatures at times and John Sheppard remains a mystery in many ways too, so it all fit.
One day I'll write a sequel. One day ....

Oh no, you didn't fail with this fic! I still think about it and re-read it!
The pawprints on the mirror are an awesome idea! I love this little touch and I can imagine Rodney's face when he sees them in the morning. *grins*

Took a quick look at the story to refresh my memory and it looks like the MD actually seems to be correct, so you ain't wrong. John thought that Rodney was a medical type doctor, so - MD :D
