Flipping channels and old shows

Its a quiet Saturday night. I'm flipping channels before heading off for bed... and The Last Airbender is on the pay cable channel. I pause. I debate.

I liked it in a reluctant sort of way when I first saw it. I thought Sokka was ridiculous. I then downloaded the cartoon series and *face palm* joined the belated fandom outrage at the portrayal of ... everyone.... in the movie.

Tonight? Whilst playing on my new HTC, I half eyeballed the movie and again and *hangs head woefully* its even worse than I feared, now that I truly know the characters, and who they are supposed to be. Sokka, played by that Twilight reject is the worst, but even poor Katara is iffy. And why are the firenation all Indian? I get it for consistency/differentiation sake but... it doesn't make sense in my mind.

However, I did spend the afternoon happily watching Berg in Two Guys, and a Girl. Man, that show was/is good. I loved it when it was first on and it remains awesome.

And saphirablue 's posts made... er, ok, inspired me to rewatch some Moonlight. Episodes 11, 12 and 13. Totally rock.

After this movie though, I'm going to have to watch some some 'real' ATLA. *gah* the travesty. the outrage. the bad acting! *covers eyes*

I didn't manage to watch some Moonlight yesterday but today it will happen! :)

there r much worse. much much worse. do not ever in under circumstances let anyone persuade u to watch the dragonball movie.

There is a Dragonball Movie? How can that be good. I haven't seen the Airbender movie, I just don't see how you can condense season 1 into one two hour movie.

Oh, you can try and fail miserably.Ffor the sake of your sanity, don't watch it. :)
