Writing update - AU Pondering

Not so much an update as a pondering.

I am happily working on mySGA AU Big Bang and have pages worth of background information of the AU versions of the characters, any OCs, the history of my AU universe, of the events that led up to the story... and shockingly very little story O_o

None of this is in vain, true, as I will use a lot of the background but certainly not all and I need to have a clear picture in my mind BUT here is my pondering...

Do people want to know the background? I personally always do as I love history. I love knowing how people got to where they are, what happened in their lives, hence my copious background. But does everyone? Would people be interested in reading a cleaned up 'background' blurb to this AU universe?

*Ponders*

In other pondering news though... I am pondering how to structure Supply and Demand Fics 4,5, and 6. Do I go experimental or not? Its already fairly experimental with the fandom hopping, would I lose readers becoming even more experimental?

Two H-50 fics are bugging me to be written but both need research and right now I am in galaxy far far away.

And speaking of galaxies, apparently Raj and Howard have been left out of the fun on Atlantis. Sigh.

I love background, too...and I think in an AU it helps. Plus there are different ways to weave it in to a story.

I am not sure what you mean by 'go experimental' with Supply & Demand, unless it is what you hinted at in terms of Sam...and I would find that fascinating and I am not as familiar with those fandoms myself.

Penny has been left out of the fun,too...though I doubt there is a Cheesecake Factory on Atlantis, there might be a bar that needs tending...plus, would Howard really leave his mother?

Weave it I shall, probably in a similar way to Supply and Demand BUT I may a nice file with all the blurb as backup.

Experimental means... telling three different stories that run concurrently with eachother timewise, sort of intersect and in order to read part 7... you need to either read parts 4,5,6 as posted or as single stories...

Howard leaving his mother would def be a problem, and Raj could hardly operate effectively with female colleagues AND... I have no clue how I would do it, just that I want to :)

Well, I think it wouldn't be too complicated to follow three different stories that run concurrently. I would find it father fascinating to see how they all intersect and weave together for part 7...I sort of love things that work that way :)

Backstory is a tricky thing - too much is bad and too little is bad. Yep, that was probably no help at all. Sorry.

Fandom hopping? Depends on the fandom and if I can read the fic without being in a fandom for a show I don't watch. Otherwise: I love crossovers, so fandom hopping is very welcome. :)
